Louis Vuitton has revealed its pre-spring 2023 collection, Fall In Love.
Inspired by David Mancuso’s legendary New York party, The Loft, the collection was conceived by the late Virgil Abloh and offers a contemporary take on the brand’s classic styles. It includes footwear, luxury workwear and casual activewear.
On Valentine’s Day 1970, Mancuso held a party at his downtown Manhattan loft. What began as a way to pay his rent eventually evolved into a crucial part of dance music history. Widely considered to be one of the first DJs, Mancuso built the parties on an ethos of anti-prejudice and egalitarianism, welcoming partygoers from numerous racial, sexual and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Drawing on this history with Fall In Love, Abloh wanted to emphasize how both DJs and fashion designers sample established genres to create sounds and looks that resonate with new generations.
